Where have we been?!?!

Hello everyone! Lisa's computer went down last week so we are sorry it has been a few days longer than normal since we posted anything! The computer is still gone, but we do have some new photos to update. Recently we had some family portraits taken and the photographer (http://www.robinproctorphotography.com/) was kind enough to give me some small digital images for us to post on the blog. We got a couple of prints, but here are some of the other images that we loved. (If the grandparents, or anyone else, is interested in seeing any other images or ordering something let me know and I can get you in touch with her)

The same, only new!

Jeff and Kelly (and Lilly, Davis & Buddy!) Place came over to visit this weekend. We had a great time hanging out and managed to get the whole crew out for a great exercise session, a skate ski up T-Lazy 7 to the Maroon Bells. As Kelly said, "The same adventures, just in a new way!"
In addition to it being a nice and challenging skate, it is a great place we can have the doggies off leash and there is plents of room for both of the double-wide Chariots. Originally we had Jeff pulling the Place kiddos and Andy had Ryder behind the Pugsley. By the end we were all skating free and Andy was towing the whole crew! Lilly and Davis had a great time and Ryder slept the whole way so we are assuming he was happy as a little clam!

Grownups only...

Sunday night we left Ryder at home with a babysitter for the first time! aaaack! We had dinner with friends and Ryder told us that he, Marley and Porter had a great time with Miss Victoria. In addition to being the 'baby/kiddo whisperer' she is an angel. We are so thankful that knowing she was with him made us able to relax and enjoy the evening.

Happily for us they took some photos!

Ryder and His Peeps

We have had a great couple of weeks of various visitors and outings to introduce Ryder to friends (like Lilly & Davis Place, Marley & Porter Morris, the Gee twinsies, Annelise Bumgarner and Christina & Billy) It is so fun to know that a lot of these wonderful friendships Andy & I have will continue on into this next generation~ we have had so much fun skiing, biking, camping, etc... now the kiddos will be doing all of this together!

Here are some of the photos.

Out and About

Well! The weather has been nice and warm up here (well... you know... warm for the first week in January at 8,000+ feet!) and Andy and I have been able to get Ryder out for a couple of hikes this week. I am still 'restricted' physically for the next few weeks, but am allowed to walk so I am trying to make it out of the house every day. Ryder seems to love the front carrier (thanks Aunt Kelly!) and basically sacks out as soon as we get going. I am sure he will be a 'motion baby' and look forward to a lot of hiking in the carrier and (once we get closer to spring!) biking and running with the stroller. The photos of Andy are from the hike to Maroon Bells and the ones of me are from my first trip up Smuggler!

Never Wake a Sleeping Baby?!

In order to keep Ryder fed we often have to wake him up to get him to eat! For the most part he eats every 3 hours during the day and (now that he is putting on weight) we will let him go to 4 hours at night. This is changing a bit as he gets bigger and his appetite kicks up, but it can be a challenge to get him up and awake enough to get through a nursing session. Here are a few videos "Waking Ryder"... you can see it can be tough getting him conscious and ready to go! (#2 is especially funny, you can see him fully wake up, then go back down...)

Splish splash, Ryder loved his first bath

One of the fun things we did with Grandpa Bill and Grandma Kay in town was give Ryder his first bath. He seemed to love it (at least he got one thing from Lisa)! It seems to be one more indication that we have an easygoing baby and it was a sweet and joyous family moment.

Happy Holidays, a look back

This Christmas was extra special with Ryder's arrival and we had the visitors to prove it! The whole family made it out to meet him and everyone worked great together to book dates and take great care of Andy, Ryder and I while they were here. Here are some photos, thanks so much Mimi Mary, Pa, Aunt Kate, Uncle David and Lauren, Aunt Maggie, Uncle Andrew, Mimi Shirley, Grandpa Bill and Grandma Kay
