Getting Creative

Every now and then Ryder will have a tough evening and have a hard time falling asleep... we will walk, sing, rock, swing, read, bath~ whatever it takes. The other night Ryder was having a tough time getting to sleep and put him down to change his diaper. As soon as he hit the changing table he started smiling and eventually fell asleep there~ well, you know the saying "Never wake a sleeping baby...." Here is Ryder napping on the changing table.

Adios Dear Friend

Well... the time has finally come! Ryder is finally getting too strong for the 'Miracle Blanket' and we are starting to put him down without being swaddled... This is sure to be an adjustment for him~ hopfully he will get used to it soon and keep sleeping like a champ!

Me and my Papa

This was another loooooonnnggg weekend with my work and school schedules (thankfully the end is in SIGHT!) so Andy and Ryder had 2 full days of one-on-one time. Fortunately Ryder was a sleepy boy so the weekend went great for both of them! I was incredibly relieved to get home last night and know that I have the next 5 days with Ryder. As long as the weather cooperates we will have more action photos to post soon~ until then I leave you with these!

Cougar Den

After going to a yummy sushi birthday dinner we went to the St. Regis for a glass of port and dessert. Since it is officially spring break it seems that the St. Regis fireplace has turned into the cougar den! Grrrrrrrrrr! We had a drink, enjoyed a molten chocolate cake and watched the ladies dance while Ryder slept hard thru all the excitement!

Birthday Hike

Saturday was my birthday and we started off the day with a big hike up Aspen Mountain. Andy and I both participated in America's Uphill~ about 300 locals racing up 2.5 miles and 3,265 feet of elevation gain. Whew! Ryder came along for the ride and I caried him up in the chest pack. Andy did a personal best on the course and the sweet peanut slept the whole time~ he woke up in time to celebrate with us and take his first gondola ride down. Thought you would enjoy some photos!

Movin' on up!

Ryder is growing growing growing and as a consequence is leaving some sweet outfits behind... His first Pata-gucci down snowsuit has officially been retired and he has graduated to this adorable blue fleece (also 'Gucci for those of you keeping track~ this kid is dressed for Aspen) (Many thanks to the Sandrich's for this new staple!)

Anyway, we were getting dressed to head out on a hike and he was smiling away, SO I tried to get a photo of the smile and got this instead... too funny! I am sure he is thinking "why does she always have to stick that annoying flashy thing in my face?!" Someday we will get a good smiling-photo!!! (The second shot is of a very rare occurance... Ryder sleeping during the day!)

Who's this guy?!

Ryder is getting more and more interactive every day and loves the bright colors, patterns and funny animals hanging off his activity mat. This one seems to be of paticular interest and every time he swats at it, hits it and makes it move he just looks up in amazement (well, this is what his MOTHER thinks is amazement....) Fun times!

Gettin' by with a little help from my fam!

The schedule around here has gotten pretty hectic with Lisa wrapping up the last 6 weeks of class, trying to get all the required clinical hours done, working again and Andy in the middle of his busy winter season. Mimi Mary and Pa were able to come up and hang with Ryder this last weekend and were a HUGE help to everyone. Ryder loved Mimi Mary and they invented their own language, here are some pics.

Beautiful Days

It has been so beautiful and warm and dry this week that Ryder and I have been getting out for runs during the day. We love the Chariot jogger and are excited to be getting so much use out of it already! Usually I just bundle him up and he naps the whole time~ I think we are both really enjoying our 'exercise' time together.

Eureka! I've Found Them!

One of Ryder's latest tricks is it cram as much of each fist into his mouth as possible. It is fun to see him gaining control over his arms and legs!
